Flame-Thrower billet distributors are frequently used in tight engine compartments due to their Plug’n Play design and relatively small size. Each vehicle application should be evaluated independently to insure adequate space for distributor fitment as well as air cleaner and hood clearance.


  • Integrated patented Ignitor II technology with adaptive dwell control. Ignitor II compensates for inherent electronic delay by adjusting the spark timing throughout the entire RPM range.

While it’s the perfect coil to go with the PerTronix Ignitor breakerless ignition, these coils can benefit virtually any distributor type inductive system.

Flame-Thrower Coils (40,000 Volt):

These 40,000 volt Flame-Thrower canister coil can benefit virtually any distributor type inductive system. Their higher voltage allows larger spark plug gaps for added power, smoother response and better fuel economy. They are internally resisted so they are compatible with many ignition systems.

The oil filled coils offer great heat control for street driven vehicles, while the epoxy filled coils provide superior winding support for high vibration environments in offroad vehicles and boats.


  • 40,000 volts
  • 1.5 or 3.0 Ohm primary resistance values available.
  • For use with inductive ignition systems.

Flame-Thrower II Coils (45,000 Volt):
Super low resistance which make them the ideal coil for Ignitor II ignition systems as well as many other high energy ignitions.

Low resistance and improved turns ratio help to produce up to 45,000 volts. This higher voltage enables you to run larger spark plug gaps for added power and better fuel economy.

These coils are also compatible with most capacitive discharge boxes including PerTronix’s  Second Strike.

  • Super low 0.6 Ohm primary resistance.

Flame-Thrower III Coils (45,000 Volt):

These quick charge coil are designed specifically for use with the Ignitor III electronics. They are also compatible with the Ignitor II products.

These new canister style coils were engineered to charge to peak current typically 30-70% faster the other coils. This means maximum spark energy is sustained to higher engine RPM.
